Would you like to be a Basketball Logger for Synergy Sports Technology? Whether youre a basketball expert or just love the game, there may be an opportunity for you! Synergy Sports Technology, the worlds premier sports data and analytics company, is looking for part-time, seasonal basketball loggers for the 2010-2011 NBA, NCAA and International league seasons.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Basketball loggers watch games on their home computers to identify and tag specific characteristics of whats happening during play. The logging process involves downloading and watching games using a PC computer and high speed Internet connection and then entering play event data using Synergys proprietary software. Subscribing basketball teams access this data (and related video) for use in coaching and scouting.
Synergy Sports uses a 2-step process to log basketball games. Both steps involve a different type of basketball knowledge. Phase One logging requires a moderate understanding of the mechanics of basketball, while Phase Two logging calls for a deeper understanding of how basketball is played and coached.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
Phase One Logger
- Interest in basketball including experience watching basketball and awareness of basic concepts such as possession, turnover, passing, and fouls
- Ability to learn fundamental basketball rules quickly and apply knowledge to logging game activities
- Must be able to log game activity with extreme accuracy and speed
- Ability to work independently, from home, during or immediately following basketball games and complete logging activity within a few hours of the game
Phase Two Logger
- Interest in basketball including experience watching basketball or participating in basketball, coaching, or fantasy leagues
- Awareness of comprehensive basketball concepts including but not limited to plays, strategies, player positions and roles, and specific offensive and defensive activities

COMPENSATION

Depending on the type of game and Phase of logging, per game rates vary from $15-40. Also depending on the type of game and Phase of logging, experienced loggers can complete a game in 1-2 hours.

.Net Software Engineer/Reporting (Burlington)
We are looking to add a sharp Sr. ASP.Net software engineer who has worked with Business Intelligence and Reporting. The ideal candidate must have experience in ASP.Net and Experience with different report engines (Crystal Reports, Telerik Reports, SQL Server Reporting services). This person will need to read and write a bit of C# code as well, but the reporting system will be the main focus.
You will be working with a 20-25 person engineering team to build a product from the ground up.
At present we can not transfer Visas and this is a full-time role. You must be located within commuting distance of Boston, MA.
