STORY LINE: An Ivy League business school grad with everything going for him must move back in with his mother when the recession brings an end to his cushy job in finance. Amidst fruitless job hunts and hot spring break diversion, he uncovers a raw talent for cooking that may very well become his key back to the top.

***Please send all inquiries to welldonecasting@gmail.com. See you next week!***

CHARACTER BREAKDOWNS:

GREG ROSEN: Mid-Late 20s; Straight man, pretty good-looking but with the intelligence and wit to back it up. Greg’s the guy who’s done it all right – worked hard in high school, got into a great college – he’s earned his dream job in finance so when he’s fired on account of the recession he’s left cynical and bitter. Unemployed and living with his mom, he knows he needs to find work to pay off his student loans but he’s too stubborn to embrace jobs he considers “beneath him.” Back in suburbia, his old high school friends annoy and depress him but he prefers their company to going it alone. Greg’s also got a creative side he’ll rarely admit to – he loves cooking and his talent’s uncanny but he won’t admit it’s what he wants to do – he’s always been too level-headed to consider it a real career option. In reality, Greg’s scared about doing something irrational, and he’ll have to push through his fears to find a career he’s truly happy with…LEAD

WALLY FELDENSTEIN: Mid-Late 20s; loud, obnoxious, eccentric, horny, lovable, classical pianist. Think a young Kramer from ‘Seinfeld.’ Wally lives in his professor’s guesthouse – playing music and masturbating far more often than he should be. He’s Greg's good friend from high school, even though Greg has fallen out of touch with him the last few years. Now that they're hanging out again, it's like old times; he's still getting on Greg's nerves, conjuring up ill-planned schemes that always seem to border on the inappropriate and absurd. His current scheme is to convince Greg that getting into some college panties this Spring Break is more important than thinking about his future. Completely impractical; he’s “Mr. Carefree”. . . LEAD

FRITZ ANDERSON: Mid-Late 20s; shy but drives a polished 1990 BMW. Gay but doesn't know it and appropriately uncomfortable around women. Slim, clean-cut guy; works for a consulate general in Miami. Not too smart, but has a word of wisdom every now and then. He's an old friend of Greg's from high school but he's better friends with Wally mostly because he’d be lost without him . . . LEAD

LINDSEY YURMAN: Early 20s; a college senior – she’s as beautiful as she is smart. Her looks have gotten her into a cliquey crowd but she’s a nerd at heart – a total science geek. Incredibly focused, she’s applying to medical school but her friends have twisted her arm into coming down for Spring Break. That won’t keep her from lugging her 800 page “Orgo” textbook though. Greg’s taken with her from the start. But, underneath her “well roundedness” there’s insecurity and tremendous pressure to make no mistakes, especially since she plays by the rules. She’s fallen for Greg as much as Greg’s fallen for her, but like Greg she’ll have to learn to take a chance, ignore the rules, and follow her passion to find what it is she really wants…LEAD

TIM PECKMAN: Late 20s; a cliché of a cliché, Tim’s the rich, annoying, over-the-top asshole that we all love to hate. Cocky; arrogant; he’s Val Kilmer from “Top Gun” meets Ben Stiller from “Dodge Ball.” In Tim’s mind, there’s always been a rivalry between him and Greg, mostly because Greg was always the guy Tim wanted to be. Greg could care less, but Tim’s determined to be Greg’s nemesis; every encounter is an opportunity for Tim to toot his own horn, but it always comes across as pathetic – “Oh Greg, you know I went to Harvard right?” His vindication is when he sees Greg, the kid he so admired, unemployed, interviewing for a ball retrieving job on a golf course. “Looks like you’re hitting your stride, Greg.” Tim may have a trust fund and a Black Dodge Charger to boot, but at the end of the day he’s a remedial high school teacher who’s loathed by everyone…FEATURED

GREG’S MOM: 50-55, Cougar, divorced, busy lawyer type, keeping herself in shape and dating men with whom she has loud, audible, sex. She has patience for everyone and everything except her son, Greg, now that he's moved back home. . . .FEATURED

KATE ROSEN: Early 20s; Good Looking, bitchy, younger-sister complex. Like her mom, she's always angry with Greg. She's hates Greg's friend Wally, but is secretly curious about his sexual appetite. She's a senior in college and is in town with her friends for Spring Break and just wants her friends to have a good time . . . FEATURED

BOBBY DARIN: 35-50: His name says it all; Bobby looks and acts like the famous singer from the 1950s. A true throwback to that era, Bobby manages the local dive Greg and his friends frequent. Greased back hair; skinny neck tie; black suit; Bobby’s a schmoozer but he’s also Greg’s Jiminy Cricket – his Yoda – the unassuming sage who helps Greg see the light – that a career in the kitchen is where he wants to be. His philosophy is simple but inspiring – he’s found what it is he loves to do and he’d be happy at his dive even if he was getting paid nothing at all. Kind of a magical character with a twinkle in his eye…FEATURED

MR. IGNACIO: 40-55: A jovial, balding, Cuban guidance counselor with love handles and a strong, but charming accent; Mr. Ignacio has been in the school system for years and it’s taken a toll on his body…and his office. He’s an absolute student favorite and it’s easy to see why. Greg is one of Ignacio’s all-time favorites and would do anything for him. When Greg comes back to interview for a substitute teaching position, Ignacio couldn’t be happier – working every angle to convince Greg teaching by his side is the place for him. Unbeknownst to Greg, however, Ignacio’s also got an “Incredible Hulk” temper, which comes out when he discovers Greg’s friend Wally has been secretly “dating” his underage daughter. It’s Latin machismo on steroids…FEATURED
