Looking for a handyman/techie who is comfortable with internet and TV technology in the Boston, MA area. Individual must meet the below requirements:

Before you apply for any Craigslist Posting position, know the following facts:

Most Craigslist Posting "employers" want you to break Craigslist rules by having hundreds of PVAs (Phone Verified Accounts) available either by creating them by breaking the law or buying them, which is illegal too.

When you've broken the law, or wasted money (about $400 for 100 PVAs) AND broken the law, these so-called "employers" are planning to hire you for $2 an hour for the entire business day. That's exactly right, $2 is a "fair wage" for this type of job according to these croo- oops, I meant employers. You will have to stay home to post all day, all week, for a whopping $80 at the end of the week. You'll be lucky if you get it in cash, and here's the kicker - they'll probably expect YOU to come to THEM.

Craigslist Posting "employers", I suggest you give up while you're ahead before the law and karma catch up with you. Do things the fair way, by not breaking the law, by not slave driving hard and honest workers. Make flyers, create a street team, or use other, much more effective web marketing techniques.

STOP BREAKING THE LAW AND STOP MESSING WITH PEOPLE'S LIVES.

PS: If you were an unsuspecting employee and found this out while in the process already like me, and the employer HINTS on taking action on you and pressing charges if you don't go on with this hoax,, tell them that they are breaking the law and you will shut down their business and get a real paycheck from them. Not $80, but more like $8,000!

What's happening to this industry is so unfortunate and insulting. Companies keep looking to take advantage of artists and not pay them. How is this an internship? They're expecting this "intern" to already know Photography, Photo Retouching and Web Design....there's no mention of school credit or what this "intern" would be learning. Whether you're a student or not, if you have the knowledge and capabilities to provide professional results, shouldn't you be compensated?

As creative professionals, no matter how much experience we have, we will always be adding to our portfolios. But we can do so through test shoots where we come together and create art---not by advertising someone's products for free.

They're always looking for someone who's passionate about what they do, they promise exposure, experience, portfolio expansion--that stuff is nice, but not a substitute for monetary payment. You can't expand your portfolio AND get paid? By the way, if you're the Photographer, you own the pictures (anyone unfamiliar with these practices, please protect yourself and do a little research on copyright usage so you know what your rights are).

Please flag ads like this. They're making a profit off your hard work and are offering nothing in return. They're not even offering lunch, travel stipend or to barter any of their "luxury" products. Nor are they offering to transition this internship into a paid position once it's completed.

Every company should have a business plan and every business plan should include a budget for advertising.

I had a cool idea for a website and was hoping to find a motivated, entrepeneurial web developer to help me execute it on his/her free time. I am a marketer for a well known web company and can handle advertising and content.

The website idea is basically to make an eharmony.com version of petfinder (which is more like match.com). Basically, rather than a simple search and a few filters, shelters/breeders/owners will make a profile for dogs and cats. Prospective pet finders can fill out similar profiles and questionaires and a model (I can build the model) will match them with compatible pets. I have been looking for a dog recently and this definitely fills a market need.

Basically, this idea is still at the fledgling stage so I really don't have money to pay anyone. If and when the website goes live, we could talk about a profit sharing model (odds are 50/50 unless the work/costs are very unevenly distributed). I'm guessing only an enhtrepeneurially spirited developer who believes in the idea would be interested.

We are a small but successful Web Development agency seeking an iPhone developer for an immediate project developing an iPhone application as well as ongoing work. You will have to fill out a 1099 form and an NDA (Non-disclosure agreement) before beginning work.

The current project involves getting a user's GPS location and allowing them to tag an area on a map and leave a post it note at their current location, or to drag the map around and leave a note at any specific location in the US, as well as read notes left by others.

Hello, we have two buildings with security systems that we purchased from Costco. The building in Brooklyn has a 19" LCD/DVR combo Lorex Model 7520 security system, and the building in Union Square has a Revo 16 Channel 8 Camera DVR. Both companies recently released iPhone applications, and we wanted someone to come by who can get each system online (viewable through the web) as well as viewable through the iPhone application.
