Nationally syndicated TV food show seeks part-time, in-house, graphic design assistant/photo editor for help with various graphic projects including photo editing and posting of images to website, and other related projects. Knowledge of Adobe PhotoShop and basic web skills a must. Knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Lightroom and basic photography skills a plus. Must be detail oriented and creative.

Approx. 15 - 20 hours/week with flexible hours.

Work closely with VP of Design to design and plan the collection on the assigned categories and projects. Initiate and interpret new product concepts to meet the needs of our customers. Present design concepts including fabrication style, color and technical packages for review. Manage design projects and work with team members to ensure that deadlines are met in order to reach company goals.

Research worldwide marketplace and interpret consumer and market needs as they relate to product category(s). Duties include, researching fabric, color and design concepts and collecting feedback from customers and sales representatives. Travel for consumer/product research and development.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Propose design ideas based on seasonal assignments and refine concepts as directed by VP of Design, Creative Director and Buyers.
Manage a category of business from the design/technical side.
Respond to business objectives with a creative, innovative and cost-effective design solution
Key partner in nurturing the brand identity and offering with a creative and timeless design vision
Design and Present seasonal collections
Recognize and accurately forecast fashion and cultural trends as they relate to the customer
Mentor Associates and Assistant Designers
Develop and execute clear and detailed technical kit for product development and follow seasonal calendar
Follow up on all communications for each development package
Interact cross functionally with Buyers, Marketing, Patternmakers and Production on seasonal line development


SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
7+ years of Design experience required, preferably in bridal or evening wear.
5+ years experience in the following:
- Women?s Apparel
- Adobe Photoshop
- Garment construction and textiles, including price points
- BA of BFA in Apparel Design
- Exceptional hand illustration skills
- The ability to express complex concepts in written form
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with partners in Buying, Production and Design
- Work in a Team Environment
