Blue Coda, Inc., a boutique Web consulting firm that delivers web solutions incorporating interactive applications and unique designs, is looking to hire a Sales Engineering Intern for the fall of 2010. Blue Coda works with clients in a variety of different industries such as Higher Education, Financial Aid, Health Care, Sustainability and Financial Services. No two projects are alike and every new client brings unique challenges and opportunities, which ensures an exciting and constantly changing work environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Sales Engineering Intern will report primarily to Jason Schaffer, Blue Codas Director of Technology Lead, in assisting with various internal as well as client-related tasks. As Blue Coda works with many different types of clients, specific requirements will vary based on the projects that are assigned to the Sales Engineering Intern. However, general responsibilities include determining how software products and services could be modified to meet a specific clients needs. The ability to clearly communicate technical explanations to non-technical clients is also expected. Some self-learning and software testing may be required, and Blue Coda will also provide training as needed.
The Sales Engineering Intern will also be responsible for interacting with other Blue Coda team members on project brainstorms, emerging technology research, installation and analysis of Web technology applications, and client site quality assurance testing.
Internship Specifics:
Intern needed to begin as soon as possible
2-3 days per week (days are flexible)
Compensation: $15/hour
Required Technical Knowledge Qualifications:
PC experience
HTML/XHTML knowledge,
Coding experience in PHP
Microsoft Office
Experience with database design and management
Experience with application design and development
Overall web savvy
Bonus Qualifications:
Mac experience
Coding experience in Java and/or .NET
Adobe Creative Suite (emphasis on Photoshop, Fireworks, & InDesign)
General Qualifications:
Applicant is either currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a postsecondary institution
Majoring in a computer-related field or Business with an understanding of the Information Systems industry/curriculum
