We are looking for a production assistant to help with the development of our online piano lessons. Creating online lessons is a complex task that requires a wide range of different skills - writing, graphic design, and light web development skills. Zipcar is seeking a Web Developer with strong consumer facing web development experience to join its growing Product and Experience team. This position requires collaborating with Engineering, Product, Design, Marketing, QA and internal stakeholders to deliver improved and new experiences to Zipcar.com customers. The candidate will implement and maintain final, production-quality code directly within site HTML/CSS/jQuery/OpenACS code base and be responsible for ensuring that the site is rendering properly and delivering the best user experience across supported browsers. The candidate must have strong trouble shooting skills, the ability to work in a team environment and to self-learn.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:


* Client side application development, working with JavaScript, HTML, CSS and Ajax and jQuery
* Server side application development, working with OpenACS templating system, TCL scripting language, Oracle database
* Involvement in defining and developing new features and improvements to zipcar.com customer experiences
* Interface with internal clients, gather requirements, coding and development, support and maintenance
* Develop functional prototypes to demonstrate interactive concepts
* Ensure all code is clean, high quality and standards compliant
* Work with product managers, designers, engineers to create improved and new front-end features that enable great online experiences for Zipcar members
* Maintain current knowledge of web design techniques, web development tools, and social web trends


he successful candidate must have the following experience, skills, and education:

* BS in Computer Science or equivalent
* 3+ years of web technology experience including hand-coded HTML, JavaScript, CSS. jQuery or XML a plus
* 1+ years server-side web and SQL database development experience (Linux, Oracle, OpenACS, TCL a plus)
* Front end development experience with consumer web experiences and applications - please supply links of your work
* Proficiency in identifying and solving cross-browser compatibility issues
* Adherence to software development best practices (coding conventions, testing methods)
* Familiar with version control software and concepts
* General UI and UX capabilities and experience
* Agency experience or international/localization experience a plus
* Knowledge of Agile and/or similar development methodologies a plus
* Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization best practices a plus
* Excellent communication and organizational skills
* Excellent attention to detail and a high-level of accountability
* Self-starter driven, entrepreneurial, strong communication skills
* Enjoys working in a fast paced, casual, growing environment

• Create the highest-level designs for new software system development.

Needs and Requirements:

• 3-4+ years software development experience in a ColdFusion 7.0 MX environment
• Experience with frameworks, design patterns and OOP
• It would be a plus if you are familiar with FLEX 1.5
• Extensive knowledge of ColdFusion Components (CFC's)
