Position Summary
The Database Consultant will provide scalability, high availability, migration and consolidation expertise on the Microsoft SQL Server platform.
Positions: Junior, Mid, and Senior Consultants:
The ideal candidates for a Junior Consultant should have at least 4 years of enterprise database administration experience, with 4 years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server.

Duties and Responsibilities
Work with Fortune 1000 clients performing scalability, high availability, migration and consolidation consulting on the Microsoft SQL Server platform as a Senior Database Consultant.
Design and implement robust database administration solutions including resource management, security, backup and recovery, performance monitoring and tuning, data management and capacity planning, planning, and implementing failover between database instances.
Design and implement scripts for instance monitoring, maintenance, backup, cloning, etc. utilizing T‐SQL, SSIS, Reporting Services and Analysis Services.
Design, write and deliver class content and presentations for workshops, seminars, web casts and conferences.
Serve as a recognized expert in the SQL Server community by contributing to newsgroups, blogs, trade magazines and community web sites.
Knowledge and Skills
Candidate must be an experienced DBA who has worked on SQL Server 2000 (preferably SQL Server 2005 as well). Must understand the SQL Server architecture at a 300‐400 level.
Strong experience with performance optimization and tuning with database applications is a MUST.

Responsibilities
- Develop, manage, expand and execute automated tests of financial product suites
- Work with engineers to create and execute test plans to evaluate new and existing features for each release
- Work closely and proactively with the software and financial engineering teams to determine the best way to increase the quality of the product
- Design, process and work flow documentation
Minimum Requirements
- A Bachelors degree in computer science or related field
- Good understanding of the Windows environment.
- 2 years of experience with a major programming language
- Advanced experience with scripting languages,
- Relational database knowledge
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to design, build and execute test processes based on business requirements
- Strong communication, both oral and written, organization and documentation skills.

Responsibilities
